About

Hi there! I'm Maan, and I'm an aspiring rich Filipina.

I usually blog over at Davao Mommy, but I decided to create a new blog, The Rich Filipinato be the home and witness of my journey to becoming financially independent.

Yes, I have started the journey already by devouring books, blogs, and all sources of information I can find about personal finance for Filipinos. This is my first step. However, when it comes to the actual journey, I can say that what I am making now are still really tiny baby steps. But we all start from there, don't we?

This is another purpose of this blog: to make me accountable for my actions. I want to be able to document the different steps and milestones I have already achieved until I see myself as what I want to become: a rich Filipina.

Disclaimer

Please know that I am no finance guru nor investment adviser. I am not very knowledgeable in terms of finance because I am still learning the ropes of saving and investing. Please don't consider this blog as an information resource; however, feel free to read about my experiences and learn with me.

So who am I really?

I am 23 years old and under my belt is a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Arts with a major in Media Arts. I graduated from UP Mindanao.

I am an online essay instructor who earns a respectable income every month. However, this income is irregular, and there are months when I earn less. And when I say less, this can vary from barely noticeably less to less as in half the regular income less.

I also have a son who just turned 1 early this year. I am not yet married, but my boyfriend is currently undergoing a series of training in preparation for work abroad. We are currently paying for a starter home.

Admittedly, life is not so hard, and except for a few lean months, we get by pretty comfortably. But we got jolted into action when I discovered that we had zero savings. What would happen if we lose our jobs? What would happen if someone gets sick? There are so many things that could happen.

Because of this realization, we decided that we need to start saving and growing our money right now. We need to become rich not for selfish and greedy reasons but to create a financially secure and independent life and honor God with our prosperity.

Please join me as I document our journey to becoming rich and financially free.

Psalm 35:27
Let them shout for joy and rejoice, who favor my vindication; and let them say continually, “The Lord be magnified, who delights in the prosperity of His servant.”
